My story

Cabins41 grew out of the many hours I spent searching for cruises with low or no single supplements for my own trips.
I've travelled across three continents over more than half a century. As a teenager, I explored Europe with a rucksack and an outstretched thumb. These days, I place rather more value on the comfort a cruise provides.
But finding a reasonably priced cruise for one person can be surprisingly difficult.
Cruise companies generally advertise prices per person, based on two people sharing a cabin. Travel alone and you may find yourself paying almost twice the advertised price.
And why should travelling alone be unusual? Some people have never married. Others are widowed or divorced. Some have partners who simply don't enjoy cruising. Others, like me, are perfectly happy to set off on their own.
There must be a great many people who would enjoy a cruise but are discouraged by the cost of occupying a cabin alone.
My first cruise was an astonishing bargain: five nights from Hamburg, via France, to Southampton for just £135. More recently, I've booked a 14-night cruise from Barcelona to the Caribbean for €635, again travelling alone. Bargains like these are not easy to find, but they do exist.
That experience gave me the idea for Cabins41.
Instead of spending hours visiting cruise websites individually, why not search as many sources as possible, every day, and bring the promising offers together in one place?
That's what Cabins41 does. It searches for dedicated solo cabins, reduced single supplements and other good-value cruises for one traveller.
We don't sell cruises or receive commissions. We simply find offers that might otherwise remain buried among thousands of conventional two-person prices.
I built Cabins41 because I wanted something like it myself. I hope other solo travellers find it useful too.
